Samsung Galaxy Music set for October 11 launch

We heard about Samsung Galaxy Music a couple of days back when Samsung revealed a list of devices that will upgradable to Jelly Bean OS. Admittedly, the name seemed to be related to a portable media player but according to our source, the device is a phone. No prizes for guessing that the Galaxy Music phone will be targeted at music enthusiasts.

Some of the music-centric features include front-facing loudspeakers, a dedicated music key to open the music player, FM Radio with built-in FM Antenna, Samsung’s Sound Alive technology and SRS. Our source also tells Samsung will also integrate its Music Hub service.

As for the hardware specs, the phone is expected to be a mid-range device with dual-SIM and single-SIM versions, Android 4.0 out of the box but will be upgradable to Android 4.1, 3-inch display, 850MHz CPU, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and micro SD card slot and 3MP camera.

A second version of the device, the Samsung Galaxy Music DUOS, will feature dual-SIM support with the rest of the specs remaining identical. Samsung is expected to announce the pair at a press event in Frankfurt on October 11th
